Frank Hemming
Frank grew up in Hampshire. After completing a degree in architecture he worked for the GLC in London. He came to Herefordshire in 1972 and worked on a farm, then in a Hereford architect’s office which designed council houses for rural areas, and then for Hereford City Council rehabilitating Victorian council owned properties.
Since then he has spent eight years as a maths teacher, but has been mostly self employed working on the design and building of small projects with particular attention to energy efficiency. He is particularly interested in sustainable living and the provision of food and accommodation for future generations.
He is on the committee of the Fownhope Community Land Trust as the Parish Council appointed representative. He is also a keen vegetable gardener and a founder member of the Hereford Seed Swap.
He has two children and four grandchildren, all living in the county. He moved to Fownhope in 2009, and is married to Gill, a retired community pharmacist.
