Highways & Transport Group
Membership
Up to five parish council members plus up to four interested residents, including a bus-user representative. Non-parish council members are invited to take part in discussions and vote, should it be necessary.
Current members of the group are Cllrs Kevin Braybrook (Chair), Will Morris and Michael Short. Non-parish council members are Tim Campbell.
Roles and responsibilities
A monthly report with recommendations will always be presented to the full council for approval. The WG will meet as and when necessary to;
Recommend a councillor (and deputy) for appointment by the full council to oversee the lengthsman scheme, including;
Identifying work
Consulting with the parish council over work priorities
Issuing work orders, in consultation with the Clerk
Monitoring standard of work.
Discuss traffic management issues such as reviewing effectiveness of SID and developing proposals arising from the CLP.
Review of bus services, parish council bus contracts including passenger numbers/feedback and survey of non-bus users.
Responding to Highways and Transport consultations.
Consider other transport initiatives.
