Footpath Group
Membership
Up to five parish council members plus the Parish Footpath Officer and way wardens serve on this working group.
Current members of the group are Cllrs Will Morris (Parish Footpaths Officer), Tim Jones and Tony Kelk. Six members of the public are volunteer Way Wardens.
Roles and responsibilities
The group has specific responsibilities to:
Advise the Council on any proposals to modify footpaths and bridleways within the parish and to seek local opinions.
Liaise with local landowners and managers and with neighbouring parishes where appropriate.
Recommend to council suitable contractors available to do work as part of the P3 programme.
Promote the use and responsible enjoyment of the PROW network through information boards, seats etc.
Recommend appointments of the Parish Footpath Officer (subject to confirmation by HCC) and way wardens to the Council.
Recommend a councillor to oversee the P3 scheme, to be confirmed by council.
Receive reports from way wardens and public on any problem defects within the Rights of Way (PROW) and land subject to Public Rights of Access within the parish
Support the Footpath Manager to maintain and enhance the PROW network via funds allocated from the P3 scheme.
A written report with recommendations will always be presented to the full council for approval. The Working Group will meet initially by the end of June and quarterly thereafter as required.
