The Pavilion & Recreation Field
run for the community by the Fownhope Recreation Field Association
Free use of the cricket nets

In 2025, Fownhope Strollers Cricket Club built a brand new set of cricket nets at the Recreation Field — amongst the finest in Herefordshire. As part of their commitment to the village, they are available to use, free of charge, to everyone in the parish. These arrangements are made possible through a joint agreement between the Strollers, FRFA and the Parish Council.
If you live in Fownhope parish, you can register as a Village Member at no cost, and once you’ve completed a short induction session, you’ll be able to book the nets for free, just like you would book any other facility on the field.
Every week during the cricket season, the Strollers also run a Village Evening alongside their regular training session. For the hour beforehand, anyone in the village can turn up and use the nets with no booking needed — a Club officer will be there to help. You’re also welcome to stay on and join the members’ session itself to meet the team. It’s a relaxed way to try the nets out before signing up properly, and a good way to meet other people who use them. For dates and times, check the Village Calendar.
To register, just fill in the form below. Under-18s are welcome too, but will need to be accompanied by an adult Village Member or Strollers Member when booking and using the nets.
