Hereford Seed Swap

February 3 2024 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Taken from above, a seed swap in progress showing seeds and packets of seeds on a red and white chequered tablecloth

You don’t even have to be a gardener or have spare seeds to swap – just come along, there are always interesting seed varieties to try, including ones you can’t buy from a seed catalogue.

There will also be a gardening talk plus a number of other interesting stalls including “Tools for Self Reliance”, tool sharpening, Hereford Wildlife Trust and the Hardy Plant Society.

If you’ve got them then bring saved seed, bought seed, plants, bulbs, edibles and ornamentals – and swap them for anything you see on the table, including heritage seed varieties.

The swap is for individuals only, so please don’t take large amounts of seed, for example for other seed swaps.

Our talk this year will take place at 11am when Tamsin Westhorpe will discuss how to “Plan for your best ever summer garden”. Tamsin is a horticultural journalist, gardener, RHS judge, lecturer & author.

New faces are always welcome at this friendly event, and we look forward to seeing familiar faces, too. Donations welcome, to help us run the swap.

For more information, email herefordseedswap@gmail.com, call 07880 730880, or visit the Facebook page “Hereford Seed Swap”.

As in previous years Frank Hemming will be putting out packets of free saved and spare seed again this year at Coo Corner after this year’s Hereford Seed Swap event. Any contributions of spare seed are welcome.
