Heart of Oak Club Walk

Join us for this unique village tradition; meet at 10am at The New Inn, ready for a 10:30am start.
The Fownhope Heart of Oak Society traces its roots back to 1876 as a mutual society providing financial help to members if they fell on hard times.
We aim to preserve the long tradition of the Club Walk Parade in Fownhope and in doing so, foster community spirit and family links.
This year’s parade will begin at The New Inn and follow the FHOS society banner, traditional oak bough, and the AW Parker Drybook Band.
We will parade to St Mary’s Church for a short service followed by a parade around the village, stopping for refreshments along the way.
Our final stop will be the Whiterdine Field behind Wye Leisure for an afternoon of music, food, games and fun family sports plus other attractions.
We welcome and encourage everyone in our community to decorate a stick and join the parade. You can learn how to decorate a stick by watching this video…
