70 acres of land are for sale – shown bordered in the image above. If everyone who cares about Fownhope contributes what they can, we can potentially buy and protect this land. Would you be interested in making a gift or investment?

The vision is to protect and enhance this landscape for nature, walking, wellbeing and community benefit – for us and future generations.

We’re still working through the detail of how to structure the purchase, but options include forming a Community Benefit Society or Land Trust.

There are many unanswered questions. Right now the Parish Council on behalf of the village is gathering non-binding and confidential pledges of gift or investments, so we can figure out if a bid for the land is a possibility. If we don’t try now we may lose this land forever.
