DESCRIPTION:Join our friendly and active group as we carry out conservation work in local nature reserves. \nIt’s always a good day in the woods 🙂 \nOver this winter and spring we will be working in a new compartment in Lea & Paget’s Wood: coppicing\, felling\, tree planting and fencing. \nCoppicing is an ancient woodland management technique that was once used to ensure a regular supply of timber and firewood. DESCRIPTION:Indigo Warriors is a revolutionary activity program for boys and girls aged 5 to 8. It uses proven peak performance coaching techniques that top sports people and business leaders use to develop positive values\, winning attitudes and key life skills. Children attend weekly classes. The classes use a combination of mental and physical development exercises\, peaceful martial arts and games to inspire and motivate. The culmination of the programme is to have developed every child’s confidence\, self esteem\, communication skills and leadership so that they are able to lead a class of 12-15 children\, for 10 minutes\, on their own. \nTaekwon-do brings together power & grace in an exciting and fulfilling martial arts practice. It is a Korean art of unarmed combat for self defence\, physical development\, personal development\, sport\, fun and friendship. It’s roots stretch back over 1\,000 years and with that it has positive philosophical teachings in addition to physical development. It is the most popular martial art in the world practiced by over 80 million people and offers people of differing ages and interests a multitude of benefits. DESCRIPTION:The Community Library was opened in 2012\, with the help of the Parish Council and use of the Community Room at Faulkner House. \nIt is a warm comfortable room with easy chairs and everyone is welcome for a chat and a cuppa. \nThere is a large selection of fiction and non-fiction\, and a strong section on local history\, travel and walking books/OS maps. \nWith over 5000 items including DVDs and CDs and a good choice of children’s books\, there is something for everyone. \nWe have excellent links with St Mary’s School and welcome pre-school children every Wednesday in term time to borrow books and hear a story. \nAll residents of Fownhope and nearby villages are eligible to join and membership is free thanks to the friendly volunteer team\, help from the Parish Council and donations from the Friends of Fownhope Library.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for this unique village tradition; meet at 10am at The New Inn\, ready for a 10:30am start. \nThe Fownhope Heart of Oak Society traces its roots back to 1876 as a mutual society providing financial help to members if they fell on hard times. \nWe aim to preserve the long tradition of the Club Walk Parade in Fownhope and in doing so\, foster community spirit and family links. \nThis year’s parade will begin at The New Inn and follow the FHOS society banner\, traditional oak bough\, and the AW Parker Drybook Band. \nWe will parade to St Mary’s Church for a short service followed by a parade around the village\, stopping for refreshments along the way. \nOur final stop will be the Whiterdine Field behind Wye Leisure for an afternoon of music\, food\, games and fun family sports plus other attractions. \nWe welcome and encourage everyone in our community to decorate a stick and join the parade. You can learn how to decorate a stick by watching this video… \n\nIf you can’t join the parade\, we hope you will turn out to support us along the way and enjoy the afternoon events with your family. \n

DESCRIPTION:Indigo Warriors is a revolutionary activity program for boys and girls aged 5 to 8. It uses proven peak performance coaching techniques that top sports people and business leaders use to develop positive values\, winning attitudes and key life skills. Children attend weekly classes. The classes use a combination of mental and physical development exercises\, peaceful martial arts and games to inspire and motivate. The culmination of the programme is to have developed every child’s confidence\, self esteem\, communication skills and leadership so that they are able to lead a class of 12-15 children\, for 10 minutes\, on their own. \nTaekwon-do brings together power & grace in an exciting and fulfilling martial arts practice. It is a Korean art of unarmed combat for self defence\, physical development\, personal development\, sport\, fun and friendship. It’s roots stretch back over 1\,000 years and with that it has positive philosophical teachings in addition to physical development. It is the most popular martial art in the world practiced by over 80 million people and offers people of differing ages and interests a multitude of benefits. The culmination of the programme is to have developed every child’s confidence\, self esteem\, communication skills and leadership so that they are able to lead a class of 12-15 children\, for 10 minutes\, on their own. \nTaekwon-do brings together power & grace in an exciting and fulfilling martial arts practice. It is a Korean art of unarmed combat for self defence\, physical development\, personal development\, sport\, fun and friendship. It’s roots stretch back over 1\,000 years and with that it has positive philosophical teachings in addition to physical development. It is the most popular martial art in the world practiced by over 80 million people and offers people of differing ages and interests a multitude of benefits. DESCRIPTION:The Community Library was opened in 2012\, with the help of the Parish Council and use of the Community Room at Faulkner House. \nIt is a warm comfortable room with easy chairs and everyone is welcome for a chat and a cuppa. \nThere is a large selection of fiction and non-fiction\, and a strong section on local history\, travel and walking books/OS maps. \nWith over 5000 items including DVDs and CDs and a good choice of children’s books\, there is something for everyone. \nWe have excellent links with St Mary’s School and welcome pre-school children every Wednesday in term time to borrow books and hear a story. \nAll residents of Fownhope and nearby villages are eligible to join and membership is free thanks to the friendly volunteer team\, help from the Parish Council and donations from the Friends of Fownhope Library.
