DESCRIPTION:A night with the stars – Planetarium Experience with Usk Astronomical Society\nJoin us for a state of the art planetarium experience during Dark Skies Week. Usk Astronomical Society will help us explore the constellations and other wonders of the night sky. \nPLEASE NOTE there are NO CHAIRS inside the planetarium – you have to sit on the floor so bring a cushion or something soft to sit on! The planetarium experience will be on the ground floor of the building\, but part of the event will be held in an upstairs room with the only access up a flight of stairs. DESCRIPTION:Bingo has been running in the village for 40 years\, and is the last Friday of the month except December when it is the Friday before Christmas. \nEveryone is welcome. \nDoors open at 7pm with eyes down at 7.30pm. \nThere are cash prizes with a raffle consisting of prizes brought along by the people who come. \nIt is all in aid of St. Michael’s Hospice.

SUMMARY:Community Library
DESCRIPTION:The Community Library was opened in 2012\, with the help of the Parish Council and use of the Community Room at Faulkner House. \nIt is a warm comfortable room with easy chairs and everyone is welcome for a chat and a cuppa. \nThere is a large selection of fiction and non-fiction\, and a strong section on local history\, travel and walking books/OS maps. \nWith over 5000 items including DVDs and CDs and a good choice of children’s books\, there is something for everyone. \nWe have excellent links with St Mary’s School and welcome pre-school children every Wednesday in term time to borrow books and hear a story. \nAll residents of Fownhope and nearby villages are eligible to join and membership is free thanks to the friendly volunteer team\, help from the Parish Council and donations from the Friends of Fownhope Library.

DESCRIPTION:The Community Library was opened in 2012\, with the help of the Parish Council and use of the Community Room at Faulkner House. \nIt is a warm comfortable room with easy chairs and everyone is welcome for a chat and a cuppa. \nThere is a large selection of fiction and non-fiction\, and a strong section on local history\, travel and walking books/OS maps. \nWith over 5000 items including DVDs and CDs and a good choice of children’s books\, there is something for everyone. \nWe have excellent links with St Mary’s School and welcome pre-school children every Wednesday in term time to borrow books and hear a story. \nAll residents of Fownhope and nearby villages are eligible to join and membership is free thanks to the friendly volunteer team\, help from the Parish Council and donations from the Friends of Fownhope Library.
