SUMMARY:Hall Garden Work Party
DESCRIPTION:We’re creating a beautiful new garden outside the New Memorial Hall — and we need your help! \nMuch progress has already been made\, but there is still more to do. \nThe aim for this session is to dig out the weeds\, clear the dead grass\, remove two laurels\, and dig over the bank to loosen the earth. \nIt will then be ready for planting up at a later date\, and sowing of wildflowers in the patch by the wall. \nPeople will need forks and spades\, hand tools\, rakes and bow saws or heavy duty loppers. \nLooking forward to seeing everyone on the 13th! \nFor more information contact Bryn Caless\, brynwstj@gmail.com\, 07581 521291.

SUMMARY:A Day in the Woods
DESCRIPTION:Join our friendly and active group as we carry out conservation work in local nature reserves. \nIt’s always a good day in the woods 🙂 \nOver this winter and spring we will be working in a new compartment in Lea & Paget’s Wood: coppicing\, felling\, tree planting and fencing. \nCoppicing is an ancient woodland management technique that was once used to ensure a regular supply of timber and firewood. Coppicing also creates a range of habitats for plants and wildlife – dramatically increasing the diversity of species that thrive in these areas. \nWhere oak is felled\, we will be manufacturing (by hand) risers and posts for new footsteps that we will install in Nupend Wood over the summer months. \nIf you would like to come along and help your local wildlife\, contact Martin Hales at wildwaysmartin@btinternet.com or call him on 01432 860438. \n  \n
